Sara giggled. “Daddy, they’re interviewing cats.” The more she thought about it the more she giggled until she was laughing out loud.

“It’s so good to hear you laugh again, Pet. I’m so sorry that I didn’t see what was right before my eyes.” Sam wiped tears from the corners of his eyes, embarrassed he had turned so weepy.

“I didn’t tell you. You couldn’t possibly have known.” Sara patted Sam on his shoulder and gave him a kiss.

“No, I should have gone to see you and Michael more often. Then I would have noticed. It won’t happen again, I swear this to you. If something is wrong, I’ll know. I’ll be paying attention,” Sam’s voice rumbled.

“I don’t think you have to worry. I’m wary now. Although Mark and Juraens seem to be wonderful men, I’m not going to jump into another situation so easily. What impresses me is that they understand that. Did you see them this morning? They’re wonderful with Michael, but it’s going to take Michael a while to trust too. On the other hand, Chou is completely on board.” Sara looked at cake pans graduated in size from eight-inch to eighteen inches and bought eight of each in depths from one inch to three.

She bought a commercial mixer and a commercial food processor but held off on the commercial oven and stove. Mindful that the fabricator could make display cases, she took a catalog with the specifications so it could be built on Sarran. She picked up and examined cake circles and disposable aluminum pie pans. “I wonder if they recycle. I don’t want to buy disposable pans if they don’t.” Sara showed her father the pans in her hand.

“Call your Warriors, they’ll be able to tell you.” Sam smiled.

“I don’t want to be a pest.” Sara frowned.

“You were never a pest or a bother to anyone. You brought me great joy and I think you bring that same joy to your WarriorPair. It was that bastard Bradley who made you think you were something less than you are.” Sam took his com unit out of his suit pocket. “Juraens, this is Sam. Sara needs some information but she was afraid to bother you.” He handed the com to Sara.

“PaSul, you and Michael are the most important people in our lives. There is no such thing as an interruption when it comes to you. There is nothing that you need or desire that is trivial to us. Now, what can your Warriors do to make you happy?”

Shock appeared on Sara’s face. “You really mean that, don’t you?”
